Infrastructure for a very small picture

favicon.tv is built and operated by BMTCodex. It exists because every product that lists other people’s websites eventually needs their icons, and every team that needs them ends up writing the same fragile scraper.

One URL, no ceremony

No account, no key, no dashboard to provision before your first icon loads. A favicon is a small thing; asking for one should be a small thing too.

Fall back, never fail blank

Plenty of sites publish no usable icon. When the first source comes up empty the request moves to the next one rather than handing your interface a broken image.

Cache like we mean it

Icons change rarely and are requested constantly. Everything is cached at the edge and served with honest headers, so your users pay the network cost once.

Own nothing we serve

Every icon belongs to its owner. We claim no rights in them, grant none, and stop serving a domain when its owner asks.

Who runs it

BMTCodex, a small engineering shop. The people who answer support are the people who operate the service — there is no tier between you and them.
